Puerto Rico

on the way home...amelia is bundled in my sweatshirt that says TEXAS (that I'm embarrassed to wear) in the Houston Airport aka the coldest airport on the face of the earth, they must intentionally keep it that cold so you have to buy sweatshirts...

old San Juan..loved, very similar to Charleston, streets a bit more narrow (if you can imagine that) had a very European feel

coming out of the rain forest, stopped at this food stand, dog tied to the roof

snails on the trees...everywhere

amelia's first (of 3...)birthday party in Puerto Rico

she is unbelievably proud of her outfit and tiara and earrings...just completely beside herself

I feel in love with pina colada's on the trip....yum, I wish I was there right this second

we were on an island off of Puerto Rico called Vieques...remote and noncommercial. here are old ammo bunkers, there used to be a big testing site and military base here...until a civilian got blown up and the locals started protesting and got it moved...

cool huge, old tree...the roots were like walls...super cool

cool looking red bugs...

stopped at the market and got these baby banana's

the cousins

outside an old fort...it was closed, roamed around outside

wild horses everywhere

Apparently iguana's are huge pests over there...they're not native and are messing up the ecosystem by eating bugs, birds and fauna...

mom jumping in the pool...we all did it, but she looked the cutest doing it

hoot and Jaime

We were in the sun and water 24/7 and Amelia never even really got a sunburn...amazing! She must have gotten a little of my pigment after all! She is now swimming without a floaty, I think being in the water so much really helped her....and her magic pink goggles:)
